Spring Trip Wrap Up
First of all, I want to say thank you to our students, chaperones, and staff on a wonderful trip to Disney World. We all had a great time and I am appreciative of not having any issues come up while on the trip. Our students behaved well and it made for a very enjoyable trip! I am looking forward and already in the planning stages of our trip for next year and the following year. Next year, I am planning a trip to Corpus Christi (if approved by admin) and then the following year we will take another big out of state trip.
Concert Uniform Return
If you are in next year’s Wind Symphony group, you will keep your concert uniform for our performance at Graduation. Everyone else will turn in their concert uniform beginning Tuesday of this week. Please have your tux/dress dry cleaned before returning it to the school. I highly recommend you use Pride Cleaners because they sponsor the band! Please keep it in the plastic bag that comes with dry cleaning and write your name on the receipt and give it to me upon bringing your uniform back to the band hall.
If you are in next year’s Wind Symphony group, you are expected to be at these rehearsals and then the performance for Graduation on Saturday.
Wednesday, May 24th – 1:30-3:30pm
Thursday, May 25th – 1:30-3:30pm
Section Leader Meeting
If you are a 2017-18 section leader, we will have a lunch meeting on Wednesday this week. I will provide food and we will meet after exams 12:45-1:15 in the choir ensemble room.
Movement Camp for all Woodwind and Brass
We will have our first movement rehearsals for next season this Thursday, May 25th, 5-8:30pm. This will be the first time that our incoming 9th graders are with us! Dinner will be provided during a break. Our 2nd and final day will be Friday, May 26th, 1-4:30pm. Make sure you are wearing appropriate footwear and athletic clothes for these 2 days as we will be working on movement.
1st Social @ Grand Station
Everyone is invited to our 1st social of the season at Grand Station this Friday, May 26th, 6-9pm. Please bring money to play bowling, laser tag, other games, and food. I would recommend approximately $20-30. If you want to just come and hang out without playing, then that is ok too. Parents, you are invited as well!
If you signed up to attend the DCI trip on July 21st, please bring your $35 before Friday and put it in the safe. Make sure it is in an envelope and labeled with who is attending and wanting a ticket.
